About My Home Remodeling Journal
Every home has a story, and this one is still being written. My Home Remodeling Journal follows the ongoing transformation of a 1970s Central Florida fixer-upper into the comfortable, functional retirement home I’ve always envisioned. From major renovations to small weekend improvements, I share each project with honest updates, practical tips, unexpected challenges, and the lessons I learn along the way.
This isn’t a highlight reel of perfect DIY projects. You’ll see the planning that happens before the work begins, the successes worth celebrating, the mistakes that become learning experiences, and the unexpected obstacles that every homeowner eventually encounters. I believe there’s just as much value in sharing what didn’t go according to plan as there is in showing the finished results.
Whether you’re renovating an older home, planning your own DIY projects, or simply enjoy following home improvement journeys, I hope the experiences, tips, and lessons shared here help make your next project a little easier—and maybe even inspire you to tackle one of your own.
Active Journal Monitoring
My Home Remodeling Journal uses “Active Journal Monitoring” to provide a clear, real-time snapshot of my ongoing DIY Projects. The status boxes highlight which phases are currently in progress, what has recently been completed, and what is planned next, giving visitors a structured way to understand how the overall remodel is evolving. This approach improves transparency by turning a traditional blog narrative into an easy-to-follow project tracker. You can quickly assess where each part of the home stands without needing to read through multiple posts, making it simpler to follow long-running improvements and return later to see meaningful updates as the work progresses.
